Transition information

Moving from primary school to Egglescliffe School is an exciting time of your life, but it can also be daunting. At the current time, the transition you are making is perhaps even more challenging.
All staff at Egglescliffe School are really looking forward to meeting you and we are aiming to prepare and support you as much as we can in the current circumstances. We have been talking to your primary school teachers over the last few weeks and they have spoken very highly of you and how hard you were working up to lockdown. We hope that this has continued in your ‘home schooling’ over the last few months.
This webpage has useful information about the school. There are video presentations, copies of transition booklets and power points. These show information about various aspects of the daily life at school. There are also some activities for you to engage in. Some website links have been added that give more general advice and guidance about starting secondary school. You may find these useful.

A transition pack will be posted to you directly. You will need to complete the short work booklet and an activity in the pack. Your form tutor, Head of House and the senior teachers will enjoy discussing your transition work with you in September (so do it to the best of your ability!!)
Some of you will have returned to your primary school in June, but we are aware not all of you will have returned on a full time basis. This means it is even more important that once you join us, you are ready to learn and embrace all the fantastic opportunities that Egglescliffe School has to offer.

Enjoy the summer and stay safe.

Mrs D. Williams
Assistant Headteacher and Transition Lead.
