Year 7 Drama Club Year 7 Drama Club is a subject extension to give Year 7’s the opportunity to develop their drama skills and make new friends. With the club exclusively for this year group, students focus on building their skills in confidence, teamwork, empathy and theatrical skills also. There is an opportunity to perform to the other members of Year 7 Drama Club in the summer term and students often progress onto the hugely popular Drama club, EYT. Year 7 Drama Club boosts my confidence and helps me throughout school and out of school with my activities. I’ve made new friends so I can now socialise with new people around school. I enjoy going to Year 7 Drama Club as it helps me in my lessons for Drama. It’s built my confidence and it also allows me to hang out with more people who I have made friends with. I also like being in Y7 Drama Club as I thoroughly enjoy Drama. Year 7 Drama Club Egglescliffe Youth Theatre (EYT) has been running for over 35 years and is the country’s longest running drama youth theatre. The club consists of Y8-Y13 students looking to further their acting ability. Students who attend take part in drama games and improvisations to large scale productions and media projects. Students get the expertise of having a Drama teacher direct them to improve their acting skills along with getting help from selected A-Level students who themselves have had EYT help them grow as thespians and can now pass their knowledge onto the younger students. – Before EYT I wasn’t contributing much but now thanks to EYT I have gained more confidence and it’s fun to find new friends that also like Drama. I feel lucky to have my friends in class and my friends in EYT. Why I like EYT is because it builds your confidence in front of large groups of people. I’ve explored different parts of my personality thanks to feeling so comfortable at EYT.
