GCSE Results 2021
Anxious faces turned to smiles of joy as students opened their GCSE and vocational results at Egglescliffe School, with many students achieving top grades across a wide range of subjects. We were delighted to see so many of our Year 11 in school today to collect their results and celebrating their success with their friends and family.
After a year of many uncertainties the Year 11 students have risen to the challenges they have faced. Our students have shown tremendous resilience and determination over the last 16 months with lockdowns, periods of self-isolation and the cancellation of exams. Nevertheless, today we saw our delighted students receive excellent grades with the majority achieving or exceeding their predicted grades.
In total we had 708 grade 7-9s and an amazing 174 grade 9s awarded. We had many individual successes including:
Abigail B, Connor S, Ben H, Yusaf A, Sophie G, Eleanor C, William J, Elizabeth G, Lucie B, Emma P, Roxanne M, Adam R, Nurallysha S, Emma B, Megan M, Ali Ashfaq M, Marianne J, Emma C, Liam W, Daniel H, Rachel R, Mae B, George O, Hussein K, Thomas V, Mia W, Poppy N, Milly B, Logan P, Jonathan R.
Most of our Year 11 students have enrolled at Egglescliffe Sixth form and we will continue to see the journey they make as they embark upon their A-level courses. For those who are continuing their post-16 studies or apprenticeships elsewhere we wish them the best of luck for the future.
Well done to the Class of 2021; we have never been prouder of a year group who have coped with such significant challenges in unprecedented times yet have so much to celebrate.
