Where are you now?
I am currently in my first year at my first-choice university, Leeds Beckett, studying Sports Business Management.
Favourite memory:
It is definitely the first game that the Sixth Form football team had away against Conyers and not only because we beat them, but just being part of a new group and getting along with everyone – not to mention my goal direct from a free kick. Egglescliffe is a great place to be because of the willingness of staff to facilitate what you and fellow students want.
Support you received:
The support at Egglescliffe is second to none. The sixth form tutor team are always available to support you with absolutely anything, not just academic study. There is a student first ethos within the college which spreads across all of the staff as well as within the student body, so there is always somebody to help. I had a lot of friends join our Sixth Form from other secondary schools who were able to make a seamless transition into Egglescliffe and they have a lot of praise for the support they received.
Why should people go to Egglescliffe?
There are so many reasons as to why Egglescliffe is the place to go – I find it difficult to actually find a reason not to go. One significant reason is the quality of teaching and emphasis on academic success. The Sixth Form team and teachers work effortlessly to provide the best education they can and are beyond determined to push every student to be the best that they can be. However, the social aspect of college is not lost and the environment is extremely relaxed and friendly. As mentioned previously with the football team, the enrichment opportunities are great with something for everybody to enjoy. I encourage everyone to go Egglescliffe because I know they will enjoy their time just as much as I did..
Where do you hope to be in 5 years?
I hope to have graduated with a first-class degree and to be working in the sports agency industry with some of the biggest global companies. As well as that, I hope to still be in contact with the people I met and spent my time with throughout my two years at Egglescliffe, which I’m pretty confident I will be! You never know, I might be back at Egglescliffe in another capacity sometime in the future.
